Triops camera – reacts to sound and motion

Franziska Faoro’s Triops is a camera which isn’t the best option for a family portrait but it is just perfect for some crazy, interesting and unexpected photos. It has a sound-activated trigger and three lenses situated in such a way that one click immediately gets you enough shots to put together a 360° photo. It responds to movement and sound therefore every picture taken relates to a live experience. So if you throw it into a wall, or in the air, yell at it, it will take pictures.

This three-fisheye-lens camera is a design concept that somebody thought was good enough to be a finalist for the BraunPrize 2007. It can wirelessly transmit its hijinks to a picture-displaying receiver, and then when you’re done tossing the camera around that receiver also serves as a charging station.

If this concept will be manufactured we hope that the price will be ok, because few of us will be happy throwing around the room an expensive camera.
