It seems that Sony wants to break its reputation for making such terrible, overpriced , always breaking computers. The Japanese manufacturer introduced today a new line of fashion forward notebooks with a very attractive price entry- the NR series starting at about $750 — which is the lowest-priced notebook the company has ever introduced. Moreover it has plenty of features
The NR models feature a 15.4-inch widescreen display with XBRITE-ECO LCD technology, which delivers razor-sharp details and crisp, bold colors. The new series is available in three colors: wenge, silk and granite.

“These new notebooks offer our trademark, head-turning designs along with cutting-edge technologies at an affordable price,” said Mike Abary, senior vice president of VAIO product marketing at Sony Electronics.

Here’s something more you can find:

-A “fabric-like feel”
-Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs on select models
-Windows Vista Home Premium
-A DVD burner
-LocationFree software for place-shifting live TV, etc.
-Multi card reader and ports o’ plenty

The PC’s built-in 802.11 a/b/g wireless LAN enables wireless connectivity to home networks or hotspots at airports, hotels or cafes for quick access to the Internet and e-mail.

If it’s not plagued by others VAIO issues, it kind of sounds like a decent buy.
