Is it a phone, or is it a camera? Until recently, cameraphones were unquestionably still just phones with useless cams incorporated, but it looks like we’re finally getting to the point where the lines are truly blurred

Sony Ericsson just announced that they will launch their K850 in a few weeks and Nokia have had their N95 out for a couple of months - and now it’s time for Samsung to finally get their G800 out on the market. They are all 5 mega pixel autofocus camera and it will be interesting to see a shoot out between these camera mobiles.

Samsung’s new G800 slider has a rather attractive metallic form and I hope that this handset will really shine, not like the LG Shine which looked more like Grey plastic than metal. What is notable, though, is the added bonus of a xenon flash and 3x optical (yes, optical) zoom. Heck, from the back, you can barely tell it’s a phone at all. Add in the usual goodies like Bluetooth, HSDPA, and a generously sized QVGA display, and Samsung has a winner on its hands — or at least it would have a winner if only it’d launch stateside. The Europeans are lucky because they can get their hands on this little sucker starting from November for a to-be-determined price.
