Hitachi launches the 103 inch HD plasma for home entertainment and manages to be the second company to produce such giant screens, Panasonic beeing the firstst to release one in 2006.

The Hitachi TV supports 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, VGA / component / S-Video / composite inputs, a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, and audio out as well. Hitachi provides special features to support business applications like advertisement display or video conferencing with multiple video sources on this 103 inch Plasma. A model for business is also available,with a 65 inch screen and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.

Although the price is not yet unveiled, the Hitachi CMP1030WFJ is made by order and starts shipping in October.
