I bet you all know how it is to have your cellphone out of battery exactly in the most “desirable” moments. I sure know the feeling as I am a former Nokia 8800 user. This cellphone was absolutely outrageus, I tell you. It’s like it had a detection sensor that knew to low the battery exactly when I was needing it the most

However, those days are gone. It seems that some Chinese manufacturer(it sems that only the Asians bring the good news) created the perfect solution for all those cellphones addicts that eat up the battery with hours of phone converstaions.

Strap-Ya hascreated a small solar cell that retains energy for when your handset is out of battery life. Simply clip it in, and it will give you that power you need. You just hang it on your phone, like an accessory and use it when you are in need.If theres no sun, the solar charger even comes with an AC adapter that allows it to be charged up and used as a spare battery.

If you want to know more about this gadget and you can understand those marvelous chinese symbols they call letter, jut click on this : http://item.rakuten.co.jp/keitai/239-102343/

Lenovo’s slim combo adapter

lenovo-slim-adapter-1.jpgLenovo’s slim combo adapterSource

Lenovo today announced its new ThinkPad and IdeaPad 90W slim AC/DC combo adapter, the company’s first all-in-one adapter designed to charge other electronic devices such as most cell phones and PDAs; and many mobile music devices (using optional connector tips.) At about a half-inch thick and 33 percent smaller than Lenovo’s previous combo adapter, it’s roughly the size of a deck of playing cards – small enough to easily fit into a shirt pocket. This will come to be really useful, as it will spare a lot of your space.

Traditionally, the power adapter for a notebook PC has been referred to as a “brick;” a weighty, bulky necessity that is inconvenient to travel with. A further inconvenience for business travelers, particularly those who fly a lot and spend time in airport security lines, is the need for multiple adapters for multiple devices. Lenovo’s new ThinkPad and IdeaPad 90W slim AC/DC combo adapter helps business travelers cut down on the number of devices they must carry.

The ThinkPad and IdeaPad 90W slim AC/DC power adapter is priced at $119. It is available at Lenovo.com and through Lenovo business partners.Enjoy.

Phone Manufacturers Settle on Micro-USB Charging Standard

clip_image002.jpgPhone Manufacturers Settle on Micro-USB Charging Standards
Source

It seems that phone manufacturers have thought about our troublkes when we buy a new phone and thought of a solution. The Open Mobile Terminal Platform group has set a new standard for charging mobile phones and most of the big names are on board. Sony-Ericsson, Nokia, LG, Samsung and Motorola all be implementing Micro USB charging into future phones. BoingBoing has details on the standard:

“However, [telecom analyst Dean Bubley] also suggested that having a standard connector might be in manufacturers’ best interests due to environmental reasons. The EU’s WEEE directive makes manufacturers responsible for some of the costs associated with recycling their equipment, and a broadly applied standard could remove the need for a new charger to be distributed with every phone or accessory.

“This is cheaper to the manufacturer, and also results in a smaller, less heavy box, which reduces on shipping costs, storage costs, warehouse costs and so on,” Bubley said. “It has got to have beneficial effects for everyone.”

This is sure good news to everyone knowing that you can travel and will most likely have access to a phone charger no matter the location. Moreover, if you’re on a plane or somewhere without access to power, you can charge via the USB ports on your laptop.

However it’s pretty frustrating that it took several years for this to finally happen.

AT&T-branded 8925 / Tilt, 9/30 first pic?

Source

For Windows Mobile users, the HTC Kaiser / TyTN II / MDA Vario III / AT&T 8925 (”Tilt”) US release is maybe equivalent in excitement to the launch of maybe the iPhone but we don’t know yet the release date for the former.

There are some rumours about the launch date and availability but they might be as false as the previous one. So I can say that you can be skeptical about these also: e-tailer Negri Electronics has started taking pre-orders on both the 8925 (pictured above) and camera-less 8900, and claims that units are expected to be in stock on Sunday, September 30th.

If the photo they’re running is indeed the AT&T production version, future buyers can be somewhat relieved that the color scheme has not changed from the unlocked model and as we expected, the front cam and all possibility of hacked video calling have been eliminated.

Samsung F700 -your true love

f700_1.jpg

The new Samsung F700 was finally unveiled yesterday after being first introduced at 3GSM World Congress in February earlier this year. This breathtaking phone seems to be a dream come true: it’s an elegant and stylish smartphone with an impressive cutting edge technology. Even though it was announced after the iPhone was introduced, Samsung has managed to exploit every flaw of the latter. There’s no need for those from Samsung to try to convince us of anything. The amazing handset speaks for itself.

The candybar with a slide-out QWERTY ‘board impresses with 7.2Mbps HSDPA plus EDGE for those occasions when 3G towers are out of reach, a 2.78 inch touchscreen displaying 440 x 240 pixels, microSD expansion, full HTML browsing, Bluetooth and a 5 mega-pixel camera with auto focus.

Now the breath taking touch-screen smartphone has got a release date in Europe and a carrier: November; and Vodafone. Can’t hardly wait to meet my future love.
