The KLIPSCH iGroove SXT, one truly audiophone iPod speaker

sxt_lifestyle_white_jpg.jpgThe KLIPSCH iGroove SXT, one truly audiophone iPod speaker Source

I’m sorry, but when a press release informs you in all seriousness of the products “horn-loaded tweeter technology”, you have to have a smirky outlet somewhere. The KLIPSCH iGroove SXT claims to be a truly audiophone iPod speaker system thanks to its horniness. It’s a two-way stereo sound system that uses dual long-throw woofers and the famous horn-loaded tweeters to deliver great sound that’s also energy efficient for the amount of output.

You can use and charge any iPod with the standard 30-pin connector, and there is an auxiliary output for the poor excluded Shuffle and, of course, MP3 players that aren’t Apple. There’s an S-video output too, so by linking up a monitor you can have a full entertainment system. £99.99 at Amazon and Carphone Warehouse.

Thodio iBox, handmade Wooden iPod amplifier

thodio-ibox.jpgThodio iBox, handmade Wooden iPod amplifierSource

Everyone has an iPod, and a lot of people have a docking station for that iPod. That cultural phenomenon has created a problem - everything looks the same. The devices are all the same, the earphones are all the same, and the docking stations are all some versions of shiny black or white.

The Thodio iBox can help solve that problem. This iPod amplifier does not come in shiny black or white according to tradition thus far - instead, it is an iPod amplifier that is housed in a handmade wooden box. It provides a unique and classy look, and it will break up the monotony of the sameness. The speakers are 25 watts each, and they are powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts for 15 hours between charges, so you aren’t tied down to your desk - you can show off your uniqueness while you are out and about. The only downside to these speakers is that handmade and cheap do not go together - they are $530 each.

V-MODA VIBE DUO iPhone Headset

scaledduo_gunrouge_click_1025_web_jpg.jpgV-MODA VIBE DUO iPhone Headset

Being the 4th of December already, I believe it’s about time to start giving some advices about what you can buy for your beloved ones. And taking into consideration that about everyone you know may have an iPod or an iPhone, here is a suggestion from the “iGadgets”.

If you gots the iFone and you don’t likes the white ear buds, get you some V-MODA DUO’s. These in-ear ear buds are amazing: they fit the iPhone perfectly, they have a usable click button for pausing music and picking-up calls, and they look much cooler than the standard Apple buds. I personally love the combination between those two metallic shades. So they are a pretty “neat” present and you can buy them online just for $89.99…just for?

Yet another iPod gadget

Yet another iPod gadget. If I were to buy all the gizmos that appear fot these devices, I think that my apartment wouldn’t be enough to store them.

There’s certainly no shortage of solutions out there for hooking an iPod up to your TV, but Hong Kong’s Acme Research nonetheless looks to have found a bit of room for some innovation, although you’ll have to judge for yourself if it’s an improvement or not.

As you can see above, the “LeDoc” (which does appear to be a legit device, despite appearances) employs a video camera to allow for some big screen iPod-viewing, and thankfully includes a remote so your hand doesn’t get in the way of the menus. On the upside, that roundabout system does at least make the dock cheaper than some other solutions, with it setting you back an even $100, although it seems you’ll only be able to take advantage of it if you have a pre-2007 iPod.

Boynq reveals stylish Wake Up iPod speaker

boynq.jpgBoynq reveals stylish Wake Up iPod speaker

Yeah, what you see above actually is yet another iPod speaker / alarm clock mashup, but being that it’s from Boynq, it looks noticeably better than most of the alternatives. Sometimes having a cute piece of white tech sitting by the bedside can actually make you want to wake up early.Or at least this is how it’s supposed to be, when you have this stylish dock next to you. You’ll just want to be awake to admire your best acquisition when speaking about iPod speakers.

The interestingly designed device does quite a few things aside from wake you from your slumber, as it also includes an FM radio and line in / out ports to compliment the built-in equalizer and 20-watts of amplification. Best of all, this thing plays nice with every dock-connecting iPod ever created (including the iPhone “on models produced after January 1st”), and the remote controllable snooze practically guarantees that you’ll never be on time for anything again. Talk about user friendly.

If you live in Europe you can get it now for around $185, but there is no word on whether or not those of us in the States will be able to do the same anytime soon. Also available in black. No pink? We’re disappointed and we’re waiting for the improved model, new feature: pink colour.

The Barbie iPod dock: pimped with pink and flowers

barbie-ipod-dock.jpg
The Barbie iPod dock: pimped with pink and flowersSource

I kind of missed the pinky gadgets made especially to make us women feel like we have no brains just because we would buy something for the reason that it is pink. Let me introduce to you this nightmarish iPod dock which has as target buyers teenage girls.

One man’s idea of hell is another 10 year old girl’s idea of heaven: in this case the difference of opinion is this Barbie iPod dock / FM radio / alarm clock so pink we could puke. We gotta say though, the flowery speaker enclosures are pretty well done, and the extremely out of place model number — officially, this is the BAR710 — is worth a few chuckles.

What are the functions. Basic ones: AM/FM Radio, iPod Charger ans is compatible with All Dockable iPods, including Nano and Video, and all MP3 Players.Desperate parents everywhere will no doubt be shelling out for one of these very soon as the empty wallet season rapidly approaches: even if there was information about pricing, you wouldn’t want to know, right?

Micro Dock with mega sound from Ministry of Sound

mosmc139ip-300.jpg

Micro Dock with mega sound from Ministry of SoundSource
The Ministry of Sound doesn’t seem to have a knack for names, as the awkwardly titled MOSMC1319P proves, but apart from that it combines sleek styling with a lot of handy features.

The not-quite-so-catchily-named system Micro iPod Dock sports 2 x 10 Watt RMS speakers and is compatible with all CD types, as well as having a 30 track programmable function, with all the usual play and pause buttons. The built in CD player rounds off this simple and stylish system which is dominated by an elegant LCD display which scrolls station and track information. It includes a USB port so you can hook it up to all your devices and includes a FM/MW PLL digital tuner with 40 station presets.

You can have one for a price of $181.
