LG Shine- now in wood

lg-wood-shine-cellphone.jpgLG Shine- now in woodSource

If the LG Shine phone in pink and gold isn’t stylish enough for you, don’t worry because there is a new product on the Shine series, more specifically the LG Wood Shine. The cellphone isn’t actually made of wood, but it has a realistic design that makes people think otherwise.

The new handset is comprised on an entirely wood-like body and features metal accents to make the design even more stylish. In the features department, it is equal to all the other LG Shine models - a 2-megapixel camera, bluetooth, Digital TV, a MP3 player, and an electronic dictionary.

I know, the features have already become standard, LG managing to introduce a “new” phone by doing only a paintjob. But who knows when you’ll wear a wood printed dress and you’ll need a phone to match. I know, it’s tough to be a girl. Thanx LG for making life much easier for us.

Swarovski Fashion Rocks for DJ headphones

swarovski-dj-headphones.jpgSwarovski Fashion Rocks for DJ headphones

Today, is blinh bling day. After the pimped iPhone, here comes a more sparkling device, of course in pink. I would be a DJ just to have an excuse to wear these headphones whenever and wherever I want. They look absolutely amazing, I woudl use them as a day to day accessory. Of course, I’m a girl, and now the estrogen speaks for myself. “Him”, is to be blamed for this attraction to sparkling ,pink things.

We have already seen Kate Moss’ Topshop dress adorned with 60,000 Swarovski crystal beads, which was created as part of the 2007 Swarovski Fashion Rocks for the Prince’s Trust. Here is yet another sparkling item from the event, an extravagant set of DJ headphones. The headphones are festooned with Amethyst Crystals throughout and include a luxury box and small carrier bag. The flamboyant DJ headphones cost a cool €1670 Euros (approximately US $2400)…Uhhm… Maybe a smaller pink sparkling necklace would look nicer on me, don’t you think?

AT&T’s latest slider from Samsung, not so impressive

737o-1.pngAT&T’s latest slider from Samsung, not so impressive

AT&T’s latest slider comes from…you guessed it…Samsung. The new device from the mobilephone’s producer is a737, an ultra thin and lightweight device with features focused around multimedia and entertainment.

The a737 is fastened with a 1.3-megapixel camera (1.3? for this age?!you must be kidding!!), video share, stereo Bluetooth, and an external microSD port. Not sure how big the screen is, but it better be big because the features aren’t that phenomenal. Although, it does come in a wide variety of colors: black/lime, black/orange, and black/blue. The a737 is also very affordable at $49.99 with mail-in rebate and the typical two-year contract.

So it would be accessible just in time for the holidays, at this price it could be a nice gift…..for your grandma who has nothing to do with handsets maybe…..

Star Trek fans, here comes the Enterprise putter

startrekputter.jpgStar Trek fans, here comes the Enterprise putter

Now I’ve officially seen it all. But apparently some Startrek fans go out of the house and some of those play golf, with this limited-edition Golfsmith Star Trek Enterprise NCC-1701 putter likely to be in the bag.

By all accounts, it’s a good putter too, with the club designed for its golfing merits and overall balance on the greens. But once the end result had the look of classic craft, there was only one way to go - the whole hog with Star Trek official licensing.

The Golfsmith Star Trek Enterprise NCC-1701 costs $130 and there are only 1701 available, which is probably 1700 more than there are golfers who are big enough Star Trek fans to buy this and use it on the course. Or, you can just collection it with all your other Star trek freakies.

The Xtreme N Gaming Router

dgl-4500.jpgThe Xtreme N Gaming Router

D-Link announced today that it has begun shipping the next increment of its Xtreme N Gaming Router. The DGL-4500 comes complete with GameFuel technology which is essentially a QoS system that is optimized for game traffic.

The device uses the latest Draft 802.11n standard and promises wireless transfer speeds up to 300Mbps. It also supports Gigagabit ethernet, for those of you who can deal with wires. D-Link also claims that the device is further optimized with a high-performance CPU that could, conceivably speed things up somewhat.

But the coolest feature by far is the OLED network activity display. It allows gamers to actively monitor transfer rates and to keep an eye on network settings. Plus it looks quiet sexy. What’s not exactly sexy? The $240 price tag, but what the hell, people will pay top dollar for products with gamer in the title.

Logitech webcam for Skype

img_4896_logitech-notebook-webcam-cebit.jpgLogitech webcam for Skype

Fremont, Calif. — Skype and Logitech today announced a collaboration to deliver free VGA-quality, 30 fps video calls on the Internet, dubbed High Quality Video on Skype.

Sure, video chatting via applications like Yahoo! Messenger has been around quite awhile. But Skype has partnered with Logitech to produce a new line of webcams specifically tailored for videocalls via Skype. High Quality Video on Skype is available with the following Logitech Web cams: the QuickCam Pro 9000, the QuickCam Pro for notebooks and the QuickCam Orbit AF.

Callers need a broadband connection, a PC with a dual-core processor, a free Skype 3.6 for Windows download and one of three Logitech QuickCam Web cam models. The cams come with a redesigned set of drivers in the QuickCam software optimized to bring VGA-quality video calls (640 by 480 pixels) at up to 30 fps to users with a 384kbps connection or higher. The result, the companies said, are significantly sharper, smoother video calls in full-screen mode.

All three cams offer a Carl Zeiss lens and an autofocus system that refocuses images in less than three seconds and allows for extreme close-ups, down to 4 inches from the camera lens.

The Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 and QuickCam Pro for Notebooks Web cams are available now worldwide for a suggested retail of $99.99. The QuickCam Orbit AF is $129.

Dough-Nu-Matic, the donut maker

doughnumatic.jpgDough-Nu-Matic, the donut maker

I know, i know, what a genius name for such a device. However, aside from the hyphened “let’s be happy cuz we can make oghnuts” name, the Dough-Nu-Matic can have you shoving a delicious miniature donut into your mouth in less than 60 seconds. You’ll have a whole pile of them in under six minutes — a dozen, to be exact. “Just add dough and the Dough-Nu-Matic does the rest.” I guess it can be useful for some party when you would need an impressive quantity of donuts. Or who knows, you might start your own business- future empire of donuts.

I don’t know much about how donut dough is made or if you can just buy a big fat sack of donut dough at Sam’s Club, so any extra effort on that front might be a deterrent. Its enclosed oil fryer keeps cleanup to a minimum and it has dials adjust for cooking temperature. The dimensions would be :14″ H x 22 4/5″ W x 6 9/10″ D. Still, if you have $130 to spare and easy access to dough, this is the gift that keeps on giving.

LG ‘jewelry’ MP3- not so shinny

lg-shine-stone.jpgLG ‘jewelry’ MP3- not so shinny

LG has launched its “jewelry concept design” line of Shining Stone UP3 S2 digital audio players, which feature “high quality material and the metal body of the five colors including black diamond, crystal silver, ruby red, pink topaz, and sapphire blue.” Still kinda looks like an MP3 player that you wear around your neck and it might share the stylings of their FM37 touch-screen player.

The name itself UP3 should suggest LG’s “innovation” - it gives a hint as to the device’s objective to double-up as both a USB drive and MP3 player. Of course, the vast majority of all MP3 players already do this — something apparently lost on LG’s marketing department.

Each Shining Stone feature in-ear earphones, support for MP3, WMA, OGG, and ASF files, an integrated FM radio, voice recording capability, USB connectivity, and a 65,000 color OLED display. It will come in 1GB ($77), 2GB ($94) and 4GB (price is tentative) capacities. Oh, and they’re only available in Korea.
