Sure it costs $300, doesn’t have a CD player and high definition radio probably isn’t available in your area, but who cares?! It’s HD capable, and what’s more important than being an early adopter?

Panasonic HDC-SD1 Review

panasonic-hdc-sd1-van.jpg

This camcorder cost around $1,499.

Why Panasonic HDC SD1 worth the money? Here is why:

- it records 5.1 surround sound audio
- 3-inch widescreen LCD and HDMI output.
- 4GB SDHC card this equals 40 minutes of 1080i video.
- no noise
- 2.1MP stills when shooting video

Buying a high-def camcorder is still considered a luxury splurge, but that hasn’t stopped some hardcore tech geeks from taking the plunge. The newest kid on the HD block is Panasonic’s HDC-SD1. Unlike other high-def shooters, the SD1 is tapeless so it stores your footage onto SD and SDHC memory cards. Because it’s tapeless, it’s also smaller than other camcorders out there. But is it worth your $1,499? Hell yeah.

Benq-Siemens Future Phones Concepts

Even if Benq-Siemens is bankrupt here are some future concepts of phones.

Cell phones design is going to keep getting crazier and crazier. It’s inevitable. And in the pursuit to create something groundbreaking-and-original, companies are designing devices that are looking less-and-less like actual phones.
Take for example these concept devices from Benq-Siemens. They do undoubtedly look cool, but it’s hard to tell whether they’re actually phones—I’m really just taking their word for it here.

And here is the article about Benq bankruptcy.

At noon on Thursday, the Taiwanese technology firm BenQ announced it was nixing its struggling German mobile phone division. The ex-Siemens affiliate declared bankruptcy the very next morning. Three thousand jobs may be lost.

Personally I really don’t like this phone concepts because they seem hard to handle.
The future should mean usability and not strange, artistic design.

Multimedia Sun Visor Theater

This is a cool gadget and pretty useful if not dangerous.

Swap out your car’s sun visor for the Sun Visor Theater, and suddenly you have yourself an entertainment center in your passenger’s face. Too bad you’ll have the highway patrol in your face as soon as they catch you with this multimedia center that’s easily visible from the driver’s seat, against the law in most states.

From the product page I found out the great story behind this “amazing gadget”

The stunning clarity of the large 7″ LCD screen will have your passengers glued to the tube whether you are chauffeuring your children around or carpooling to the office. With the 16:9 movie theater aspect ratio, your favorite films will have you wishing that the next movie you see in a theater have seats as comfortable as your dream car!
